Volunteer At MRS, we encourage our staff members to volunteer for organizations whose values align with our core mission to promote environmental protection. A selection of some of the outstanding volunteer work our biologists have done in their field follows:
- Ms. Lauren Brown, Senior Botanist, is an active member of the California Native Plant Society San Luis Obispo Chapter and received the Hoover Award in 2008 in recognition of her long-time service. She currently serves as representative to the Restoration Task Force, part of the Dunes Collaborative, which is responsible for making decisions about how to utilize funding for restoration projects in the Guadalupe-Nipomo Dunes.
